Planning a party or hosting an event in the UAE? Here are tips on when and how to start planning for it.

Planning a party could be tedious and stressful. But if done in advance in a correct order, nothing could stop from making it a success. It’s always advisable to start planning early instead of struggling with the last moment errands to run.

Mentioned below are a few points that could help you plan it right:

1)      Work out your logistics – Sometimes success of a party lies all behind choosing a right venue, date and time. If you have a small crowd, it is a good idea to consider keeping the place central thinking of everybody’s convenience. Select a date and time that again you think would suit the working and non-working crowd.

 2)      Guest list – This is the next most important thing! Work on your guest list; decide who you want to invite to invite and who you don’t. This would again help you in finding a good venue, because the bigger the crowd, a bigger place you need. Always keep in mind the percentage of no shows that may happen, this would help you to anticipate the turnaround on the day.

3)      Picking a theme – This is where you let your creativity flow. Crucial to remember that picking a theme is a key to bringing in some fun at the event, but at the same time it should be suitable to your crowd and not come across as offensive. A few examples of themes that do great at events are color coordination, a cartoon/ superhero/ TV show theme, early 80’s party, beach day, etc

 4)      Booking food, furniture and entertainment – No party is complete without food and entertainment. Sometimes good food or music is the main reason for people to attend the party. So make sure this is planned for. Besides making the event comfortable for your guests with the right furniture is equally important. If you event is within the UAE, Catertainment Furniture Rental would be a great choice. All you have to do is contact them and provide your event details and the rest will be taken care of.

5)      Invitations – Spread the word! Send your Save the Date and invitations to everyone on your guest list. It is a good idea to ask people to RSVP so you are gearing up to the right head counts for the day. If you are not too keen on print invites, email or Facebook does just fine now-a-days.

6)      Hosting – Plan and delegate before the event day. Get a few people from family or friends to get involved and take care of certain duties eg- someone to take care of the music, someone to look after the food being served, someone to do the decorations, etc. A well planned and well organized event will always make a successful event.
